Ruger Super BH cylinder pins loose

I bought a slightly used SBH 44 mag and when I shoot 240 grain remington soft points in it the cylinder pins pops forward and locks up the gun. I took it back the the shop I got it from and they swapped the cylinder pin from another used gun they had. The new pin has a set screw that locks it down to keep it in. Is this the proper cure or does this gun need to go back to Ruger for repair?

That locking base pin is the cure. Belt Mountain makes them to solve that Ruger design defect. I put them in all my shooting single actions. Colts, Ruger, Ubertis, Bounty Hunters and Hawes. You are set.
