Ruger SRH in .454/.480 - How accurate?

I shot a .454 Casull Super Redhawk, with full power loads, 300 grain at 1620 fps:eek: The recoil was stout, but tolerable. The group, though was about 6 inches at 50 yards. My S&W .44 will go half that.

After time to practice and get used to the recoil, how accurate is your SRH, in either of the above calibers? I am interested in the .480.

Thanks!

sorry

Might be gun, but probably shooter.

Big heavy is hard to shoot straight; our body don't like it (scared of pain).

I have 41, 44, and 45 5.5" Redhawks, and they all shoot straighter than me.

Yep, might be, might not be, too.

I shot a SRH in .44 mag a few years ago and it didn't shoot well for me, even though it kicked less than my Smith .44.

I know the big bucking bronc revolvers are sensitive to how they are held, and I only fired six shots, not enough to get used to it. I was curious to as to what accuracy results people were getting out of .480's or .454's, once they got used to the recoil.

I looked at a .480 recently and the cylinder locked up as tight as any revolver I remember - that's good, if the rest of the machining is as accurate.
