Ruger SR9C

Local range has a Ruger SR9C, used for sale at less than $350. I did the research including what I could find here, got to dry fire it, and decided to go for it. Will pick it up Monday.

Talk to me.

Life is good.

Great guns.

I've got one that I don't shoot much, but hang onto. (As you probably know, Ruger has discontinued the SR9/SR9c, but parts should be available for quite a while.)

I much prefer these guns to the Security-9 which seems to have replaced it.

You can find NEW ones on GunBroker for $400+/-, but then you have to pay shipping and transfer fees to a local FFL. I bought a SR9 and later an SR9c, and paid about $325, in a FTF sale here in NC (where, if you have a permit or a CHP, you can buypass an FFL.)

Mine has been very reliable and extremely accurate - Great Shooter. The only downside is that it is fairly stiff to rack the slide. Enjoy your new SR9C !!

I've been carrying the same one for years. I shoot it regularly and I'm as good with it as any pistol I've ever shot. There are some who say it is not made robust enough for serious use. My experience and the experience of several friends and acquaintances says otherwise. Enjoy!

I had an SR9c. It was accurate, and reliable. I didn't like that it had a Magazine Disconnect, the trigger wasn't great, and it had a manual safety. It was a solid pistol however, but I decided to move on. I do still have an SR45, and feel the same way about it. Its decent, but not a favorite

Great gun, but at $350, that's a bit on the expensive side for me for a used gun. If it's in good shape, go for it.

New range/LGS just opened in my hometown this weekend and I went to the grand opening. They had for sale a used SR9c (with a stainless slide) for @229.99. I was very tempted but was a little short on cash and a lot short on justification.
