Anyone thoughts on the failure to feed issue on this.

Several reviews talk of this. Mostly caused by light loads.

Could the recoil spring be changed?

I never had that issue with mine.

It may not like the "standard" velocity stuff, but high velocity is basically the standard 22lr load now.

I have run several brands through mine with no issue.

Just use standard or hi-velocity loads. Save the subsonic loads for bolt action rifles. My SR22 is fine with most standard and hi-velocity ammo. And we're talking a 22 here; it's not as if you have to use light loads to avoid recoil... Use what runs best in your gin.

I changed the guide rod to a steel guide rod and put 300-400 hyper velocity rounds through it and now it eats anything I put in it. It is probably just needs to be warn in!

I use high velocity 22 in the 36gr size. I only had a fail to feed when I was first shooting it and testing various batches of ammo. If I let the pistol go too long between cleanings, it would begin to fail to return to battery until the barrel ramp and lugs were cleaned.
Nice pistol.

edit: and use copper plated 22 also.

I have run 12 boxes of the cheap 40gr Federal stuff that comes in 335 rounds per box in my SR22. I only had issues with one box that I had 3 FTF. Other than that one box I have not had any issues with mine. It’s a fun little gun.

Haven’t run any other ammo through it.

Winchester White Box in my SR22 was a jam o matic. Just would not feed that ammo.

Besides that, it works fine with other ammo, including .22 Shorts. To shoot the Shorts, I'll put one in the chamber and one in the mag and it cycles and ejects them.

Aguila and Remington are excellent rounds for my wife's SR22. No jams yet after about 600 rounds. I clean it every time it's used though. Somewhere I was told that the SR22's need to be regularly cleaned and since I always clean all my revolvers/pistols whenever they are shot, it's no big deal. Hope this helps.

Bought an SR22 and an MP22 afew weeks ago. Both have been great. As far as ammo I use the Aquila Super Extra and have had zero issues. AND I buy at Target Sports USA for most of my ammo. 5000 rounds of Aquila for $229 free shipping. I find the Aquila to be every bit as good as CCI ammo.
