Ruger speed six

Found a Ruger Speed Six over the weekend. 2 3/4 barrel .357.
Looks like it was a police trade-in. The shop owner says he is getting them from Australia. Looks a bit dinged up and the serial number is engraved on a couple places. Frame barrel and crane.

Into layaway it went :)

Will do.
I have a Ruger GP-100 with 3 inch barrel on payments too. I'm hoping the gun shop will let me switch to a 6 inch GP-100 now.

I think the Speed six will fill the role I had in mind for the 3 inch GP-100.

Good choice, the Speed Six is a fine revolver. Is it stainless steel or blued? If stainless, you could work some of the dings out yourself.

I recently scored this New in the Box 1980 Speed Six in .38spl

rugersp101-- Very nice. I have a soft spot for those old Rugers. My Security Six is my new hiking buddy, that dang Redhawk is getting heavier or I'm getting older?

Thanks guys. I'm hooked on the older one's in addition to the GP and SP now! I figure since I have the .357 covered with the GP's why not two classic service size .38's, they're cheaper to shoot. maybe someday a redhawk.

I was drooling over a minty 3" Postal Inspector-marked Speed Six with the original box and manual, but I couldn't raise the funds in time for the gunbroker auction. :(

Different places, I'll be out there next week see what they say. Worse case I get the 3 inch GP-100 too. Darn it!
I hope they let you change to the 6". Having both sizes would be ideal.

I have a Speed Six in .357, nice revolvers there too. Post pics when you can. You can shoot the .357 just as cheap as the .38 Special, but you can't shoot the .38 as hot as you can the .357...

Here's my Speed Six:
