Ruger Single Six Bisley .22lr

Today at a flea market I found a gentleman at a booth with what I thought at first was a Ruger Bearcat. It looked bigger so when I picked it up it was a Single Six Bisley in .22lr. It was blued with a stainless triggerguard. The cylinder was engraved.

I have never seen or heard about single six bisley. The housing looked about 95%. Could not check lock up since he had a tie on the cylinder and trigger guard. He wanted $450.00 for it

How common or rare are these? Does that seem like a good price?

Either someone painted or did something funky with the triggerguard if it truly was a single six bisley.

That seems fairly high for a used one that's not as factory new.

I've got one that I'm still working on...er...put on the back burner for now that has never shot as good as a Heritage I've owned and I've tried everything.

The single six bisley has the same frame and barrel as the regular single six, but it has a steel bisley "stylized" grip frame, and never included the magnum cylinder- I don't know why, as the barrel is the same exact one as on the regular single sixes.

I have done a dit of internet searching tonight and I don't think anything was done to the trigger guard. I think it was a distributor's special.

It looked EXACTLY like the one in the 5th post on this thread on rugerforum

If I am following the thread correctly it is a model # RB-22WS meaning only a few hundred were made. Probably means the $450 was a good price.
:o

Yes, there were indeed some blued/stainless ones produced as you found. (never say never with Ruger w/o knowing for sure ;) )
Easy to swap parts and make it appear as one of them though so a call to the records dept would be best to verify how it shipped. Regardless, $450 wouldn't have been a horrible price anyways.

Bisley .22

yeah that's my gun on the Ruger forum. Special run in the late 80's of 750 guns. bought mine new at the Sports Authority for $289.95 about 1988/89.Stainless steel grip frame. And no they didn't come with matching magnum cylinder. I've shot mag's thru a fitted cylinder and it shot as good as the 22LR cylinder.
Real good price @ $450!!! Grab it!
