Will an old model single six 22 mag cylinder fit new model single six weapon?
I would ask RUGER, but their phone center is closed till next month.

The only correct answer is "Maybe." The proper answer is that any replacement cylinder should be fitted to the gun. That might mean dropping it in and verifying that all clearances are good-to-go, or it might mean doing a bit of filing and stoning ... or it might mean seeing that the new cylinder is too short and can't be fitted without setting the barrel back -- which would mean the gun then won't accept the original .22LR cylinder.

There's a reasonable probability that it might just drop in -- but it's not guaranteed.

AFAIK, only a replacement cylinder with an arbor "too long" might be fitted (there still could be timing issues); whereas a cylinder with an arbor that's too short cannot be successfully bushed w/o effecting either headspace one way, or bbl/cyl gap the other way, depending if the bushing's tried front/rear.

MANY years ago, you could send Ruger the gun and they could fit a 22mag cylinder. Never did it, my Single 6 came with it. So, ask Ruger.
