The Ruger GSR is a great little "practical" rifle as far as I'm concerned that offers you more versatility that the traditional rifle.
You can configure the rifle to the situation instead of trying to find the right situation for the rifle. I've used a forward mounted red dot on mine, open sights, and right now I have a traditional scope, mounted in the traditional location, on mine for the upcoming deer season.
As for accuracy, I have no complaints and find that I'm getting MOA or sub MOA with ammo it likes. I like the rifle so much it has become my 90% Rifle. By that I mean, it will do 90% of what I want a rifle to do for the situations I place it in. The only reason it's not my 100% rifle is that I prefer other calibers for certain hunting situations.
The GSR was not designed as a hunting rifle, defensive rifle, or target rifle, but rather as one rifle that will serve a person in all situations one may need a rifle in. It is optimal at none of these roles, but does very well, hence the term "practical". It embodies the concept of, "One man, one rifle."
