Ruger revolver question

I guess I must be a newbie, but I talked to my Dad earlier and he was telling me about his new gun. He just traded one of his little semi-autos and some cash for a Ruger revolver. I can't seem to find much about it though. What bothers me is that he says it's a 9mm revolver. Do they really make one? I told him that I had never heard of a 9mm revolver, he said that the gun dealer said its "one of a kind". What do you guys think?

I've seen them in magazines. They do not seem to be one of a kind. I've read that they are popular with police officers that carry a 9mm as a secondary gun.

Even though it's not one of a kind, he'll probably enjoy it a lot.

It could either be a sp101 (small revolver) chambered in 9mm or a single action Blackhawk in .357 mag with an extra cylinder chambered in 9mm.

ruger has produced a number of 9mm revolvers over the years, so it's surely not a "one of a kind".

there is the:
1. convertible blackhawk .38/.357mag w/extra 9mm cylinder
2. service-six (i believe it was a indian government contract) in 9mm w/built-in extractor (wire in ejectior star), later changed to moon clips
3. sp-101 using moon clips

i recall hearing about the speed-six in 9mm, but have never seen one.
