Ruger Redhawk in .41?

So - we just closed on a house with a bunch of property - figure I would get a new home defense gun - one w/o TOO much range; bought a new Marlin 1894fg (.41 mag), which turned out to be terrible - marlin jam almost every round out of the magazine. Went back to the store - they gave me full refund towards a nice used Benelli M1 Super 90. Anyway, I decided on that, when (now having a couple boxes of useless 41 mag ammo) I spotted a Ruger Redhawk 41 in the revolver case - never fired, in the box w/paperwork for $399. Blued, 5.5" bbl, rounded wood grips - looked real nice. Serial number places manufacturer in 1987. I thought it over a bit, and I bought this too.

So - how are these?

Worst case scenario, they are getting hard to find.
You may get offers to buy it right now, for what you paid for it.
It's a big frame revolver in .41 magnum, now really?
How bad could it be? ;)
I'm jealous.

if you can't tell, i really like mine:

I bought a stainless one used for about the same money a couple of years ago - I think you did real well.

The .41 Redhawk is heck for strong, and very accurate. I wound up trading mine because it sort of needed a set of wheels (I hike in the mountains behind my house, and I would just never take the Redhawk with me - always opting for my .41 Blackhawk instead).

Anyway, you've got a great couple of guns now - enjoy them! :)

I paid 500 for a gently used one a couple years ago. Thought it money well spent.

Production figures for the 41 redhawk including blued, stainless, which barrel length, and w or w/o scope rings combined is only around 5,000 ever made. Ruger quit making them in 1991. It took me about three years of searching to put a pair together.

Why?

Why my Redhawks are a "collection"..........

But I shoot the crap outta them, and the 7.5" 357 and the 41, 44, and 45 helped me struggle my way into C Class Revolver; IPSC, ya know :D
