Ruger redhawk 45 colt durability question.
how long should one last with cowboy action loads, and the occasional hunting round(less than 50 a year) i would like to buy i gun i won't wear out. i've got a habbit of buying cheap guns and shooting them until they die, now i want to get an expensive one that will last long enough to be an heirloom.

It will last as long as the dinasours, or maybe a little longer.

Mine has a considerable amount of "experimental" ammo through it. Still ticking like a Rolex.

(Did strain my 44 Redhawk obtaining 1800fps with a 300g bullet. Ruger fixed it free.))

Durability of Redhawk?

I always mention a magazine article where a writer put 10,000 rds of full power 240 JHP's through a Redhawk within a week and the revolver just kept shooting and shooting without any problems.

He started out shooting quite a bit on his first day and admitted that he paid for it the nexr day. He had a buddy help him out and did alot of it wearing leather work gloves.

I like the article because I figure I got along way to go with my Redhawk before I reach that round count )
