Ruger Redhawk .41 Magnum

My uncle passed away a few weeks ago and I promised I would help his wife sell his guns. There is a 7.5 Ruger Redhawk .41 Magnum that I am having a bit of trouble finding a fair price for. Seems as though there are few out there to compare it to. Gun is stainless in about 98-99% and has the box. It also has around 450 rounds of ammo to go with the gun. Hope you guys here can help me out a little as to a fair price for the gun and ammo.

I just did a search of Gunbroker completed auctions (where the gun actually sold) and found quite a few that have sold in the last few months. Low price was $631. Highest price was $1275. Most were in the $800 to $950 range.

This is one of those examples where having a national sales audience will definitely help bring top dollar. Like you said, .41 was a pretty rare caliber for this revolver. Also, there are only a limited number of people looking for a .41 mag at any given time (kind of a niche market). So, advertising it on Gunbroker might be your best solution to getting top dollar. Sell the ammo also on Gunbroker (separate auction to get the best dollar).

I'm a pretty big fan of the .41 mag, been shooting my M57 for over 30 years. I'd like to find a 4" and would take a Redhawk or another M57, if I had the money I would go as high as $900.00 on a Redhawk in great shape and most ammo on the shelf I've seen is around $75.00/box of 50. Just thought I'd throw this in as a point of view of a prospective buyer. Unfortunately every time I save up enough money I buy something else before I can find a .41. I won't buy online but constantly look in gun shops and gun shows.

The 5.5" brings more money but you are certainly upping the ante with all that ammo. I have a 5.5" stainless .41 Redhawk and it is one of my favorite guns. I had to look long and hard to find it on GB. Very nice revolvers.

I have a man locally who is interested in the pistol and I told him 1250 for pistol, ammo, box and an uncle mike's pistol belt and holster that fits the revolver. Does that sound about right?

That sounds quite decent. I agree with SaxonPig's idea of about $250 or so for the ammo so that leaves you selling the pistol for around $1000. That means you are getting a decent, but not max price. If you and the buyer are happy, then I'd say it is a win-win all around.
