Ruger Redhawk 357 prices

Saw a Redhawk 357 (5.5") for $695 today. Seems to be in great shape. I know this are rare birds, and I take it that is probably at least a fair deal, but is it a great deal? I have a 45 colt Redhawk so I appreciate rare Redhawks and think this may be a good companion to it. Gunbroker isn't much help today, the only one available on it is starting at $1,075 with no bids. Not sure if that is a realistic price or not.

So a Redhawk 357 for $695 in great condition with box, what kind of deal is that?

I'd say that is a more than fair deal if this is a gun you are chasing!

If this is not a gun you desire, I don't think this is a "buy" price if you simply think you wanna snag it and flip it later simply because it's "rare."

I think it is a way cool revolver and I think it's plain silly that Ruger elected not to continue production of them. And along that thought process, I would be far from shocked if Ruger decided to make them once again.

Any prices over that are, in my opinion, "inflated" by folks who realize that they didn't make many of them. For the folks who aren't specifically .357 revolver aficionados and hardcore gun cranks, it's simply a used Redhawk and probably worth $500-$700 depending on condition. The folks who know they only made them for a year or two are the ones who put the $900 & up price tags on them.

YES! Price is subjective, and the fact that they -ARE- short printed does increase the demand and thus the price. I saw two of them at shows in the last year and one was $900 and NICE and the other was not as nice and $1,200. I'm sure the $1,200 price was a tag-shocker so that a buyer would feel like "he stole it" when he haggled down to $900. (I say this because of all the other prices that dealer was displaying)

Bottom line-- if it's something you specifically seek for yourself and it's in fine shape, that's a BUY price where I live.

Redhawks in 357 are scarce. I can't recall ever seeing one and I have seen many Redhawks.
Most Redhawks I have seen: Around 70% are 44 and the remainder in 454/45.

The 41 mag Redhawk is another one that sells at a premium if the seller is aware of the market. I sold mine at a slight premium, but it was unfired and NIB.

I think if you want to get the 357 mag Redhawk, this might be the time. Personally, I don't see the great appeal for them as compared to the GP-100. My concern would be condition at this point as eventually you will re-sell it.

Tenn, I don't know if that's a "deal", I get so few of those, but it sounds like a fair price for a rare gun. Were I in the market, I'd buy it. When might you see another? I sure can't remember the last time I saw one. BTW that .357 Redhawk, and the Casull .357 revolver, have to be the most heavy duty .357s in the known universe...ymmv
