Ruger Red Label malfunction

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone had experienced a similar problem with Red Labels. My Stainless Red Label, 30" barrels and synthetic stock, kicks the safety on between shots when I am using High Velocity Steel 3" shells. I love the gun but now limit its use to Upland birds. I bought it for waterfowl use. Any help would be appreciated.

Not had that problem myself but have not used the type shells you mention.
Red Labels are very rare (i.e. not popular) over here in the UK and they're certainly built to last.....
I'd be interested to hear some more comments as I'm a big Ruger fan

Call Ruger and ask them. They give excellent service if something isn't right with the gun.

Friends who own Ruger O/U's have had problems and Ruger fixed them. Be specific as to the problem and type of ammo you used.
 
It sounds like the safety detent spring is broken, or the detent is stuck. If you decide to pull the stock off and have a look be VERY careful, where it is fitted to the reciever is a tight fit and it WILL break the stock if you over tighten it putting it back on.
