Ruger rear sight cross pin.

I bought a GP100 6" bbl. and LCR-X 3" bbl. Both new. First time shooting at range the rear sight cross pin that holds rear sight in frame starts coming out on both guns. Called Ruger and was told just bend the pin alittle and stick it back in gun cause thats what they would do if I send gun back to them. So I did. Worked for one range session with GP100 but not the LCR-X. I now have little faith in that fix. Am thinking about going to local gun smith and have him peen the pin in the frame on both guns. Is this a good fix? All reponses appreciated. I will start a new thread on the trigger guard of the GP100. Thanks , all responces appreciated.

I had thought of epoxy but I think the sight does minimal piviting on this pin for elevation. I'm putting on a new night sight when it arrives. I didn't think of the lock-tite. That sounds better that epoxy and peening. Thanks, I like the lock-tite idea. I will go with that. Thanks. Have a great evening.

The bend needs to be in the part of the pin that is in the frame. I peen the end and put a kink in the pin about 1/8" from the end.

Bend the pin. If that doesn't work, bend it a little more in a different spot. It WILL work and you'll be able to tell it's going to work by how hard it is to get it reinstalled.

I drove mine out part way, tapped it lightly downward to put a decent bend in it and then drove it back in. Last time I ever had to mess with it.
