Keep in mind that this not only means that you can't adjust the sights, but also that you can't replace them with night sights inexpensively unless you have legitimate gunsmithing skills. Hiring a pro to drill and inlay the sights will likely eat up the cost difference from the LC9s.John D said:As a self-defense gun, I'm OK with the fixed sights.
Carl the Floor Walker said:Thanks but I will spend the additional $37.00 for the standard model with sights and the ability to have night sights, like my Present one.
gc70, I did not notice that. Obviously Ruger is going to make a change or replace this fine pistol. Newer model may not mean "Better". It has been a proven winner for sure. I have shot them and owned them since they first came out. I personally hope they do not go the way of the LCP Gen 2 and toward the LCP ll of which I am no fan.You may soon not have a choice. The only LC9s models that are still listed on Ruger's website are Distributor Exclusives.
That may work for some, but not for my style of shooting/training. I point and shoot using a sight in a peripheral Picture. Night sights are a big benefit. I am no fan nor would I ever use a laser. All three of my pocket guns have night sights. Trying to find one now for my LCR.Fixed sights? So what? For self defense you aren't looking down the sights anyway. Put a crimson trace laser on it, and Bob's your uncle.
