Ruger Police Service Six .38 Spl Question

Is this gun DA or SA? Loading gate or swing out cylinder? I am seriously thinking of getting one of these in the next few weeks. What kind of accuracy should I expect? 10yds. 25 yds? Any reccomendation of grips or ammo? Any help is greatly appreciated.

DA, swing out cylinder, built like a tank and will shoot anything that you feed it.

Their principal problem is their triggers failing to reset. I wouldn't trust one. The Ruger GP-100 is a vast improvement.

You may have seen this. It's a Service Six that I bought for a song and fixed it up. This is a .38Spl. They also come in .357. They are plentiful for $200 to $300 depending on calibre and condition.

Mine is like doubleaes2 described. A really good shooter. However, Sir Will knows wheelguns. For the price I don't think you can go wrong.
