I've been shooting my PC4 carbine a bit but have never had the stock and action apart before today. I wanted to see how much crud had built up and wipe down the innards. I was surprised by how little crud there was in the action of my gun. I made the mistake of pulling up on the side stop just poking around and ping out pops the spring I managed to get the spring and plunger back in and the slide stop reinstalled but it's not working right. The plunger is facing the slide stop but my slide stop is not working freely anymore. It can be manually moved but it won't automatically engage with an empty mag and it won't disengage with no mag. I'm frustrated. I like the carbine, it's reliable, but I see it's a very complicated design and I am at a loss to figure out what I did wrong when I put the slide stop back in. I need to know if there is a particular trick to this? I would appreciate anyone with experience giving me some guidance. rc
Update, I did install everyting correctly. When I read the instructions it specifically states the bolt stop is manual unless you are firing the last round. It seems that inertia is needed for the stop to work automatically. Doh.......... Shot a half box of shells today without a hickup, everything worked normally.......
