Ruger PC4 vs. Kel-Tec SUB40

I am interested in getting a carbine, and I almost bought a Ruger PC4 the other day. Then I remembered how great the SUB40 looked. I can buy the Ruger now, but the SUB would have to wait until about January (When I leaver PRK for Dallas).

Which in your opinion is a better all around carbine? Which is better quality in your experience?

Max,

I can only speak to the PC4 from first hand experience. One tough gun. Never had a problem with mine. Never should have let it go. If you go this route, get ghost ring sights for it. I hear someone (Lonewolf?) will modify the mag well to take other than Ruger magazines, such as Glock hi-caps, which would be a nice touch. The Ruger does accept Ruger pistol mags, which is great if you have a Ruger P-series pistol.

The Kel-Tec gets good reviews on KTOG (http://www.ktog.org), and it can be had in a configuration that accepts Glock mags if you don't want the standard that accepts Kel-Tec/Smith & Wesson magazines. Looks like an interesting piece. I've handled but have never shot one. Seemed nice, if you want a collapsible gun.

I look at the Kel-Tec Sub the same way I do a CAR-15: It's great for transport but not the best configuration for shooting comfort and consistency.

I have two Ruger Carbines, one in .40 and one in 9mm (this one has been converted by www.lonewolfdist.com tou se Glock mags), both with factory ghost ring sights. They are short, accurate and reliable.

Hard to go wrong with either, I imagine.

I think Ruger's got a much better reputation for out-of-the-box reliability.
