Ruger P97 Reviews???

I'm looking at potentially adding one of these handguns to my inventory. I am VERY interested in hearing from people as to what you think of them.

How are they in the recoil department? Brutal? Pussy-cats?

What do you think of this gun?

I have a Ruger P97

Its accurate, good ergonomically, utterly reliable, and handles well. The recoil is very mild IMO (not much more than 9mm +P).

My only complaints deal with the fit/finish quality, which are not good. For example, the frame to slide fit is terrible on mine and it "rattles" when the hammer is cocked with no magazine in it. Also, the trigger has excessive side to side play. There are also visible tool marks on the slide. While none of these problems affect performance, it does make the gun feel "cheap".

My overall review would be good since the P97 functions flawlessly and is accurate (capable of 2.5" groups @ 25 meters). If you can live with the cosmetic flaws listed above, go for it. For the money , its a damn good pistol.
