Ruger P97 or Steyr M Series?

I am about to buy a new handgun this weekend and cannot decide. The P97 has good reports and my gunshop has them new for $370. I have always been interested in the Steyr M but have heard stories (many) about problems. Also should I get the M9 or M40? I am so confused! Please help me out!

Simple!! Get the Ruger!! It is tough as nails, and will digest anything that you feed it. Although I am not a boulder spitting power freak, I have heard good things about the P97. It is possibly the best .45 ACP for the money. I have it's older brother, the P95. It is the most accurate centerfire handgun that I own. So go do the right thing, and go buy that P97!! :)

I would also go for the Ruger P97 for all the mentions in other posts and threads. On a side note, I am starting to see pretty many Styer M series pistols show up in the used cases of various gunshops.

I`ll jump on the bandwagon and say P-97 too! I have one of the first ones made and I`m just tickled with it. It shoots and handles great and it`s far more accurate than I ever expected it to be. Marcus

Buy the P97, I did and I pick it up this Saturday (10 day wait bull$heet expires then). I can't wait to try it out and I'll report back to everyone how it performs. Again, from an ergonomics point of view, its feel and balance were outstanding, just as good as Sigs (perhaps better), and obviously better than Glocks. I don't think you can go wrong with a Ruger P95 or P97.

Go with the Steyr. All the early bugs have been worked out and it (mine) works flawlessly. At the next big shot show, they'll be showing a Steyr .45 prototype as well.
