Ruger P95 safety mod?

I have a Ruger P95. It's a super gun except for one thing. I can't reach the safety when I have a normal grip on the gun. It doesn't stick out far enough. I have talked to a good local gunsmith about modifying it somehow. Perhaps by putting a half oval shaped tab on there. He said it would be ugly and might not work.

I am wondering if there is any commercially available replacements for the stock safety. Rugers don't seem to have a very large following. Also, any mod suggestions are welcome.

I'm left handed and the safety on the right side of the slide is even harder to reach then the one one the left.

Here is what I do. I don't use the safety. Problem solved. The DA trigger is long enough that I feel as long as I keep my finger off the trigger there won't be a problem.

After all, Ruger makes a P95 with just a decocker and no safety.

I would just leave the safety alone. If the gun is in a holster and the trigger guard is covered there shouldn't be a problem.

Your finger is the primary safety for any gun.
