Ruger P90 slide

I have a question for anyone that would like to answer it.
I have a P90 ruger I am fairly pleased with it, though it is not, or I am not real accurate, I would like to say it is the gun but I will take the greater of the blame.
Any way, I fired it today and the slide did not return althe way home, has anyone else had this problem, and what could have caused it, and what do I need to do to fix it.
Thanks to all for your help.

Could've been a dirty gun, limp wristing, or a bad cartridge. When your gun jams up you should examine the round, and not fire it off it to see whats what--something I can't seem to remember to do when one of my guns jam up. If it's not bad ammo or fouling; then there really might be something wrong with the gun, and you'd need to get it looked at.

What's the trigger pull like on your Ruger? If the single action pull is way heavy that could be your accuracy problem.

Check to make sure the recoils spring is not backwards. The spring has a slight inverse taper at one end (bigger). That end should be against the slide, and the straight end should be fitted on the guide rod.

Have you cleaned it lately?

First off Snail male what is limp wristing?
The gun was only as dirty as it could have been firing 30 rounds, I clean the gun after every use, thanks to usmc training, old habit that I am glad I held on to.
Trigger pull in single action is smooth to a point, till the hammer inguages then it gets kinda stiff. Maby that is not the right way to express it but my vocabulary is rather small. The only other 45 auto I have fired is a marine issue 45, lots of difference.
I check the barrel when I clean the weapon and it does not look as though the rounds are of poor quality. Any way I am the student, please teach me.

I don't have a p90, but I do have a p91 (the original .40). I've had the same problem with reloads that where not sized properly, overall length was too long. The slide would go forward, but not all the way. I could pull the trigger, it would drop the hammer and force the slide the rest of the way forward, but no bang, I could then pull the trigger again, and it would fire.

The only other time I have duplicated this is while shooting some really soft lead bullets, after the first 30 rounds my feed ramp was caked in lead, and the bullets where sticking on the way into the chamber.

If your gun continues to do this, I would probably contact Ruger customer service and ask them, it could be that there is something wrong. Or it could just smooth out with use.

Limp wristing is when you don't hold the gun firmly. What happens is the slide travels back under recoil, and there isn't a solid enough platform. Most of the energy needed to work the slide is transfered to your wrist instead of the gun. The solution, hold the gun tighter. Rugers can be limp wristed, and caused to malfunction, I've seen it happen a few times at the range, you can usually watch the person and tell that thats the problem.

Limp wristing is when you don't have a firm grip on the pistol. You hgave to keep your grip firm and ridgid so that as the slide comes back it has a sturdy grip that will absorb the recaoil and let the gun worked via the slide traveling back and picking up a fresh round and continue all the way back into position again. The only 2 failures to feed with my P-90 was because of this problem so it was more me and the other shooter who shot it at the time than the gun itself.
Also, make sure that your slide is properly greased.
