Ruger P89 Disassembly Please Read

My dad has a Ruger P89 9mm that he has never, ever cleaned. I know this is atrocious and I was going to clean it for him today, but I could not figure out how to disassemble it. I pushed and pulled, pryed and prodded, but to no avail. Does anyone own one of these? Can you tell me how to essentially field strip it? Any help would be much appreciated.
