Ruger p series

Does any one know if ruger still services the p series hand guns. I can pick one up for 350. That seems to be the going price in my area. Thanks in advance.

I think they do, but a quick call to their service department will answer your question.

I know the six series is a no, but the P series has only been out of production a short time.

From what I've read on a Ruger website.............technically, no they don't!
But seem to still have some parts left over still, because folks are still getting them repaired?? considering the amount of p series guns that were made I wouldn't worry about it........at least I don't with my p95.:D

I don't know if Ruger still services them or not, to tell the truth, I've never even thought about it, but I bought one (P95DC) a couple of months ago and I really like it.

If it breaks, I'll just reach in the range bag or the safe, and pull out something else.

I contacted Ruger CS. The very nice lady on the phone told me that the p95 is still completely covered however some parts are only available to Ruger Techs. That's good news.

Interesting.

There was a mod some P-90 owners were doing for a while, where they replaced the P-90's trigger with one from a P-95. It's said to be better shaped.

P-95 triggers are unfindable now. (Except maybe as part of a "parts kit" on ebay.)

Even if Ruger doesn't want to service one, you can find complete or nearly-complete parts kits (minus frame) on gun auction sites for next to nothing. They're often listed anywhere between $15 and $35, for average condition (and maybe a few missing parts), or $50-75 for excellent condition.

I bought one last year for $30, shipped. The only parts absent were the sear, barrel, and frame. In that particular instance, the barrel was gone because it was retained as evidence (crime gun), the sear was damaged by the salvage company, and the frame was destroyed because it was part of the salvage company's contract with whatever Police Department the pistol came from.

That's because the people that have P-95s don't want to sell them.
They're nearly-indestructible 'bricks' that will run on anything you feed them. You could probably get one to run on cartridges filled with swamp water. ;)

About the only P-95 triggers that show up now are coming from the 'salvage' companies such as mentioned above.

Yea I bet. The CS rep said "they can still send some parts out but there are a lot of parts that are only available to their techs". So if something breaks they will fix it if you send it in.
