Ruger P-95

Based in a previous posting, many good things were told regarding the Ruger. What about the Ruger P-95 or P-94 regarding reliabilty, accuracy and life expectancy.

I like my P-95. The polymer frame will absorb the most powerful rounds. It's light, it's kinda big, holds 15 rounds, accurate, easy to clean, shoot, it's reliable, etc.

It's the Toyota Camry of guns... Extremely depenable, but it doesn't have any personality ;)

The Decocker-system is the best system out there IMHO.

Nice weapon. I just couldn't get used to that long trigger pull, but other than that I had no trouble carrying it for about 8 months before I used it on a trade.

I've had a P90, P94, and P95. They are all excellent. They were all factory tested beyond 20,000 rounds with no measurable wear. I sold my P95 because I didn't like decockers. But, it would feed anything and had acceptable combat accuracy. It was light and it felt good in the hand. The trigger pull was smooth and was shorter than comperable sized guns of other brands (I did alot of checking on this before purchase due to my small hands). The trigger pull was also lighter than that found on many more expensive guns.

You can't buy a Ruger with out getting reliability and durability.
If you are shooting target or it's for a woman I would get the P95. If it's for personal/home defense I would go with the P97. They are close to the same price but the 45 ACP makes a bigger hole. The 9mm has cheaper ammo with higher velocity = normally more accurate.

I would echo the previous comments. I own a p95 and love it. It is kind of heavy but it feels SOLID. It feeds everything i give it and its very dependable. Did I mention the 15 rd hi cap mag?

15yds, 15 rounds, one ragged quarter size hole. Ruger P95 loaded with 115gr S&B FMJ.
Reliability. I have 1700+ rounds through mine with no jams or hiccups. I expect this pistol to last forever. Nuff Said!!!!
