I just picked up a Ruger Old Army and have a question, the loading lever and ram and base pin seem a little loose in the locked position, will the lever come loose with recoil and fall.
Thanks

NOPE...been shooting one since 1974....has NEVER dropped the lever....have four ROAs and none of them drop the lever.....its the Walker Dragoons that drop loading levers

which model of ROA did you get?

I have the 7 1/2 inch stainless Ruger it is unfired but no box or papers came with it,I hope to get out and get some round balls through it soon.

If it does fall, just fold a small piece of target paper and insert it into the spring gap to tighten things up when closing.
Works fine.

My Old Army has dropped the lever a couple of times now. But I have some serious recoil using 35 grns of 3F Olde Eynsford or Triple 7 with my 195 grn WFN bullet.

There's a screw on the end of the loading lever (the part you pull back to release it). This screw tightens/loosens the lever. Adjust it a bit and see if it helps. Mine rattled a bit until I adjusted it.
