Does anybody know where I can buy a mainspring (hammer spring) for a Ruger Old Army cap and ball revolver ?

On the left is a spring and hammer pawl for the ROA, on the right is a spring and hammer pawl for a Ruger .357 magnum Vaquero pistol.

Here is the ROA with the Vaquero spring and hammer pawl installed.

It worked just fine, as in you wouldn't hardly know the difference if someone secretly swapped them in your pistol.

Ruger does NOT "re-invent the wheel".

Didn't think Ruger would have dropped ALL parts for the ROA so soon.

They kept the Security-Six family going for decades & the ROA hasn't been gone all that long.

I think after Bill Ruger passed away, the company lawyers wanted nothing more to do with a revolver that couldn't be adapted to Ruger's transfer bar ignition.
It only was in production so long because Bill Ruger liked it so much.
The Number 1 single shot rifles were another one of Bill's pets.

It's sort of like Ford Motor Company having to wait until Henry I died before they could finally drop their old flathead V-8 engine.
