Ruger O/U automatic safety?

Does anyone know how to disable the automatic safety on a Ruger O/U? I still want the safety to work, just not automatically when you break it open.

I read somewhere that Ruger will do this work at their factory. Give them a call.

While other guns usually can be changed by removing a small part Ruger changes a part for another and only they will do it .You can't buy the part . You send the gun to Ruger ,they replace the part and return the gun .Give them a call.
I also hate auto safeties !

I keep meaning to send my Red Label to ruger to eliminate the auto safety, but I never seem to be able to get it done. It's only been 18 years, so I guess I'm just going to live with it.

I'll give them a call mysel but I was told that Ruger won't modify it anymore.

Have you checked with Numrich to see if they sell the modified part?
