Ruger not taking orders could lead to price increase in used market?

I believe they've stated orders will resume in May, and in the meantime they have not stopped production. It's new ORDERS, not current PRODUCTION, that's been suspended.
They're still cranking them out, why would you think
the supply would "dry up"?

I see little to no impact on used gun prices out of this.

It's not that Ruger is suspending production. They are suspending new orders. They are producing firearms as fast as they can, possibly faster than they ever have. It's just that certain factors have resulted in record demand and they are striving to catch up.

I think used firearm prices in general stand a good chance of going up, but not due to any of perceived production problems with Ruger.

Looks like they haven't stopped production, just suspended taking new orders. :)

That's correct. Ruger is still shipping product, and dealers are still receiving it. They're just catching up on backorders.

Naw, that's not it at ALL!
They've merely stopped taking orders for new guns temporarily, while still continuing current production.
Or, to put it another way- They're still cranking guns out, they're just not taking any more new orders at the moment.

Added to which, Ruger guns are still shipping, but distributors can't place new orders till May.
Oh- I also heard the factory is still making guns, too.
And, they're trying to catch up with existing orders. :D

:D Pontiac stopped production. Is my 2007 Pontiac worth a lot now? After all, you can't buy a new one ;)

Yes, you're engaging in wishful thinking. :)

I dont feel as the used or NOS prices will really increase much, if at all by Ruger choosing to fill existing orders before accepting more. At least in my mind, it is probably a wise idea instead of trying to keep up with orders that may be a year or more out before they are filled.

There will still be some folks with NOS Rugers that will price them overly high due to the reduced availability of them while the popularity is high. I advise folks to be a wise in buying, as always. Save when you can, but also balance it with your own interest and desires properly.
