Ruger no.1 Varminter trigger adjustment ?

I misplased my owner's manual for my NO.1 22-250.I would like to have a lighter trigger pull since it is about 6 pounds now.Can I reduce the pull weight myself without going to a gunsmith?I see that there are two screws on the trigger itself,does this have anything to do with a simple adjustment?

"Last night I adjusted the rifle. The front screw is functional and
adjusts the amount of overtravel. The rear screw is functional and
adjusts the pull strength. It's now a 4 lb. trigger (was 5) with no
overtravel. It's not a superb trigger but pretty nice for a factory
job. If I want to go to 3 I'll have to drill the spring seat a tad
deeper."
