Ruger No.1 Rebarrel

I've been trying to sell a Ruger No.1 International in 30'06 for a while now but haven't gotten many offers. None that I can see taking, most wanting to trade a much less quality gun for it.

I've decided that I might just have it rebarreled into a .257 Roberts and go that route instead. I contacted a gunsmith but he wants as much as the rifle is worth to do the job. Seems like I'm in a no win situation with that. I cannot believe that rebarreling the gun is a $650.00 job. Is there anyone who does a good job with these guns for a more reasonable price?

For some reason a lot of Ruger No. 1s in .257 are on the market. If CDNN is selling them, I would not spend any money to convert a perfectly good 30-06 to that caliber.

Yes it is still for sale. $1000.00 for the rifle with a Leupold VXII 3X9X40 or $850.00 for the rifle alone.

nice

That is a very nice rig and I cannot believe you can't sell it. Respectable piece of glass on it too. A 20" tubed '06 is a noisy, kicker, but I suppose one could load for it and I would.

Bet you sell it. I wouldn't go through a re barrel process myself.
