Ruger MKII find at the LGS

I went by the LGS to check on a revolver I had on consignment.
Well, new since I was there a week ago was this:
Ruger MKII Standard SS taper. Just the gun and two magazines with hang tag of $350.
I looked it over and asked if there was any negotiation room. “Well we could do $340”, I said sold.

It doesn’t look like it’s been shot much at all and no cosmetic blemishes.
I haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet.

Stainless Steel
Six inch taper barrel
DOB 1985

Congratulations. The gun looks perfect. I've got a Mk II SS Bull Barrel and it is one of my favorites - very accurate and fun to shoot.

That's a better pistol than what is currently being sold as new.

Of course, that's my opinion, not intended to offend happy owners of the Mark III pistols, but I hold that opinion near & dear to my heart.

I would pay more money for a lightly used Mark II than I would even consider ever parting with for any Mark III.

You got a fantastic deal.

Very nice. I have one like yours blued with tapered barrel, and a SS bull barrel. Both very nice.

Love the SS ones, though.

Have not shot it much though because I only have a small pile of 600 or so rounds left of .22! Still out around NW Indiana and SW Michigan.

My father has the exact same pistol (except blued) that we have shot for over 20 years now. A fantastic pistol.

The only downside is that the Mark IIs seem to be a bit less reliable with HP ammo than the Mark IIIs.
