Ruger MK III LCI

Having trouble removing the pin that holds the LCI from a Ruger MK III.

Tried a strong magnet but that did not pull the pin.

Any suggestions?
 
I Super Glue a tooth pick to it...works every time. Clean all the oil off
from the pin, then apply a very small drop of glue to the tip of the
tooth pick and hold it to the pin until it sets, then pull the pin right out.
 
The super glue trick works just be sure you don't use too much or you will glue the pin in. I won't say how I know this (LOL). Have you tried moving the LCCI bar a tad while tapping? Sometimes some dirt or machining bits create a bind.
 
Just curious. Is this a steel grip frame Ruger Mark III, or is it the Ruger Mark III 22/45 variant? Normally, the steel grip frame versions give up the LCI pin quite easily. It's usually the "LITE" version of the 22/45 where trouble is encountered with removing the LCI pin.
