Ruger MK I v MK II

IIRC, MkIs have no cutouts in front of the tabs one uses to charge the bolt.

I'm not sure if Mk Is were available with bull barrels.

Not sure what else.

Mark II locks open after the last shot and IIRC has a 10 round mag. Mark I is a nine shot and can have bull barrels.

Grip screws

Yep, the grip screw spacing is definitely different.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find grips for a MKI? Ruger says they have no more in stock and they don't manufacture them any longer.

Horny Toad-

A couple places to try...
If you want foctory original, I would try a gun show. If you just want grips, you may see if Hogue carries some.

Did I spell that right?

As was already stated, on the Mk I, the bolt does not lock back after the last shot has been fired (like Ruger 10/22). The Mk II has a bolt which locks open after the last shot. They use different magazines.

Mark I's did not lock open following the last shot, but they did lock open by engaging the safety with the bolt retracted. ...not much good at identifying an empty mag but OK for cleaning.
