Can someone please give some opinions on theis particular rifle?? I am going to a gun show on the 17th and am considering purchasing this firearm.

I am looking for a good accurate semi plinking gun.

Thanks!!

Very reliable and fun to shoot. Not extremely accurate, 3 to 4 inch groups are the norm for my particular rifle. Ammunition is inexpensive, quite a few aftermarket products aimed at the Mini-14 and mini-30s. Hi-cap magazines still readily available but quality varies. Mark/FL

the first one i had had problems holding 6" at 100 yards. My second would hold just over an inch. The second was SS

I recently bought a Mini-30 Ranch Rifle. It's no tack driver but good enough for general use. Groups run about 2 1/2" at 100yds. Rear fold down sight on the Ranch version stinks, I've got a Williams replacement ordered.

Grayfox,
Do you have a web-site for the Williams sight replacement?

Flyerm14,
Williams has a web sight but, they are only using it to push their new firesight line.
I ordered mine from Cheaper Than Dirt ($24.97). It just came in today, so I haven't installed it yet. But, it sure looks good! You can reach CTD at http://www.cheaperthandirt.com You may need a catalog to order over the web as they can't list everything on their website. If you're interested the part number is RGR-375.
BTW: CTD has a number of goodies for the mini 14/30 rifles.

You might try an Ashley Emerson receiver sight. I think he makes them for Mini 14's and 30's. I've seent the one's made for 10/22's and scout rifles and they are far superior than Williams but at also twice or more the price.
