Ruger Mini-14 ten round mags...

At $15.95 each, the price seems right. If they are reliable, I will start buying them after the supply of 20 rounders dries up. I wonder if they will be making them in stainless or nickel any time soon.

They are out of stock until mid-September I was told by someone at the company when I tried to place an order. Meanwhile, the reports I have had about their quality haven't been that encouraging. As they say, a good mag is hard to find.

I looked at some of these at a gun show last week, and they seemed to be well-made. They appeared to me to be of significantly higher quality than most of the other after-market Mini-14 magazines I've seen. They also make 10-round Mini-30 magazines. It seems like I read somewhere that they had a bad batch, but had corrected the problem and would replace any faulty magazines. Given their apparent quality and fair price, I will probably give them a try. I do also wish they made them in stainless - stainless mags just look better in a stainless rifle, and it's nice not to have the finish wear off. If they came in stainless, I'd have already bought some.

John Masen "used" to make good 10 round mags. The ones made within the last year are out of spec and they have been retooling their dies, etc. to correct this problem. They are very honest and if you have a bad mag they will not hesitate to refund your money.Go to www.johnmasen.com and contact them to see if they have finished retooling yet and have any of the new mags yet,if they are done, i gaurantee you that you cannot find a better 10 rounder on the market. Why they continued to sell off their "bad" ones before retooling is another subject though...

I used a new 30rd PMI mag at the range yesterday. It was 100% reliable thru the hundred rounds that I fired. I don't think PMI makes a 10rd mag however.

Where did you get your PMI magazine? Is there a viable on-line source for these? I had a price of $120 quoted to me for a 30-round Ruger factory mag--is that typical? (That was a gun shop.)

A John Mason representative confirms Mini-14 magazines are being re-tooled and should be available in mid-September. According to the company, the previous run of mags didn't work in "five per cent" of the Minis out there; new ones will work in all, it's said. Just passing it on.

Deltaforce.com has a sale on PMI new blue 30rd mags for $40. each right now. Also check here in the TFL classifieds. Legionnaire has some good prices on PMI mags. I have purchased a couple from him also. But if anybody wants to purchase a 10rd like new Mason from me its $15. shipped. No warranty however!

Sounds as if you could get a refund on your 10-rounders from John Masen. After, they are admitting a manufacturing flaw. Thanks for the deltaforce.com tip.

I may be selling my mini pretty soon. If I do I will have about 25 to 30 (NIW) PMI mags to offload. Price will be $25 plus ship to non restricted States. I will keep ya'll posted.
