The serial number for this gun is normally on the inside sideplate, crane and frame opposite the crane/yoke right?

Looking at this revolver the number KE716? is stamped on the inside sideplate,
But the number E716? is only visible on the inside of the crane.
Aren't all the numbers supposed to be consistent and equal to the serial number?
Has anyone come across this where the full range of numbers aren't printed on the inside of the crane/yoke?

At least since the early 1900's Colt has stamped serials on the frame just beneath the barrel, the inside of the crane, and inside the side plate.

I haven't seen a late production King Cobra so I'm not sure if Colt changed the system.

Is the serial number stamped on the FRAME, and is it complete?
