I've been thinking about getting one of these rifles but, wanted to get feedback from owners of the mags linked below.

Are there other magazines for this rifle?

I know the 3 rd mag listed on Buds has a picture of the plastic mag but, the description listed steel construction.

Ruger is the only company I am aware of, that is making magazines for the rifle. It's a proprietary design, that only fits the one rifle. So, there isn't much of a market for anyone else to jump into.

But... even if some one else was making them, I would still recommend the Ruger versions. Ruger magazines are well designed, durable, and very reliable.

Im trying to get it straight.

The first magazines I linked are Ruger factory mags (plastic double stack to single feed)?

Second were Ruger factory mags (metal double stack to single feed)?

Third are Ruger factory mags (metal single stack)?

All these are made by Accuracy International and are factory mags?

And Alpha Industries makes the type 2 that works with the Gunsite.

Crosshair, what (besides the one that came with the rifle) other types of the "Factory" mags have you tried?

Not doubting the Alpha Industries are better. Just trying to get as much information on this as possible.

The dimensional specifications of the RGS magazine system come from the Accuracy International short action chassis. From what I understand the ten round magazine that comes with the rifle is an actual AI magazine just like this. AI also makes this five round magazine. All the other magazines are either made by Ruger or by some other 3rd party company.

Alright, now its becomes more clear.

So does anyone know who makes the magazines from Buds?

Thanks for the correction. That's the first I've heard of the magazines being based on (or actually) an Accuracy International design.

I can tell you that you can order the 3, 5, and 10 round polymer mags from Midway. They have the Ruger logo on the bottom. And all three work great in my rifle. The 10 round polymer is significantly shorter than the metal version. (My metal version is now retired to the shooting box.) The 3 round version is basically flush with the stock. The 5 round version is my personal favorite. Quite compact, can easily carry the rifle with one hand wrapped around the middle of the action.
