Ruger GP100 Finish Selection

Hello All,
I'd like to purchase a new GP 100 revolver pretty soon and I was wondering if there is any difference in durability of the finish between the plain old stainless finish and the target gray stainless? I take exceptional care of my firearms, but for the same price I'd like to get the best corrosion resistance and finish durability possible. Thanks for answering in advance.

If you go to Ruger Forum.com you can get some info. IIRC the target grey has been treated chemically to make it darker, other than that they are the same material (stainless steel).

The target grey is stainless.
I was told that it's how the metal looks after being tumbled. Don't know if that's true or if it's a chemical treatment. But either way it is stainless.

IMHO, the target grey "lasts longer" than the brushed or gloss stainless simply because it doesn't seem to show every little scratch or smutz. My SRH is the .454 in target grey, and even though it gets beaten up more than my GP-100s, it still looks almost new.

Although personally, I prefer blued finishes.
