Hi Guys, This is my first post I hope it's in the right forum. I'm little buddy but I'm not little, thats my grand kids pony's name so I can't foget it.
I have an old ruger 44 mag I bought back in the 50's , haven't used it much so it's in real good shape. I saw one like it the other day on gunbroker.com for 1950 dollars, I almost fell out of my chair. Can anyone tell me is this an honest price? Any opinion would be appreciated. Thanks
Little Buddy

I think GunBroker's prices tend to be a little inflated. However, depending on the condition, serial number and if you still have the box, it could be worth that much. The 7.5" length barrel is the rarest of all the .44 Blackhawks, only about 750 made. Here are some links with information;

Many Ruger collectors like to get guns with consecutive serial numbers. You may be better off posting your question on the Ruger.com forum.

Hope this helps.

Flatop ruger 44mag

LITTLE BUDDY: HI and welcome I am a new guy to there are some real sharp people on this fourm. I have gotten a lot from just being able to listen. About your RUGER I am a real fan of the ruger SA`S. What you have is realy somthing, My Son and I have a number of single action rugers. But we do not have a 1950`s model 7 1/2 inch 44 mag Blackhawk, We have always wanted one and in my opion they are very rare and just a wonderful firearm to shoot or just to own and hold once in a while. But I bet you would be sorry if you sold it. It should go to Son or Grandkids when you are threw with it, or at least that is my opion. I would buy some shells and just shot and enjoy it. I wish we had one. Thake care. ken
