Ruger EC9S slide locks open

Is this a common problem with this pistol? Shoot a couple rounds and the slide stop seems to bounce up and lock the slide open. I took it apart and gave the spring a little more tension,if it keeps it up guess I’ll need to replace the spring.i really like this gun though.
 
Most often, this type of malfunction is due to some portion of the shooter's hand/fingers inadvertently applying upward pressure to the slide lock button during the act of shooting. Pay close attention to that as you shoot.
 
It is caused by the slide lock tab inside the gun that sits near the feed ramp. Some ammo will hit this as it rises up in the magazine as it gets ready to go into battery. Use Magtech ball for the range and Hornady critical defense for carry and the problem goes away.
