Ruger blackhawk Price to low?

So this is a 80 dash serial number 3 screw 7.5 inch bbl .44 mag. Only a few rounds down it. 81 dash numbers were in 1974 so I would assume this was 73?
My question is, is it worth more than a newer one? If I were to sell it to a buddy of mine ( not a great buddy) I am thinking 575.00 is too low. Thoughts?

FWIW, the gun pictured isn't a Blackhawk, it's an Old Model (3-screw) Super Blackhawk, with the 80- prefixed SN examples made 1969-73.

1973 SN's ranged from 80-41702 to 80-57651.

I'll reserve comment on a price to a friend - since IMHO that's nobody's business except the two "friends".

------- I thought I said all that. And dont reserve judgement on value. I am thinking 650.00 I just went into ended auctions and saw a couple approaching the 700 number.

If you were my friend and told me you wanted $650, I'd laugh and walk away. I wouldn't take it as a major insult, but I also wouldn't entertain the offer at all.

$575 or less would be more appropriate.

Using Gunbroker for valuation is like using Mecum Auto Auction prices and the duPont Registry to price a car. Just because ONE sold for XXX amount, or is listed for XXX amount, doesn't mean all of them should be priced the same.

If I paid $600 for an Old Model Super, it had better be mint. At that price, I wouldn't think my "buddy" was cutting me any slack. Maximum of $500-$550 for one with obvious, although slight wear. We would need better, more detailed pics to determine the value of yours.

Technically, you did call it a `73 Blackhawk when it is actually a Super Blackhawk. That could be as early as 1969. A "Blackhawk" .44Mag would be a 1956-1962 "flat-top". All fine details that can make a big difference. For a 7½" "Blackhawk" .44Mag is scarce (rare length) and would be worth at least two to three times what your Super is.

Do you have the box? That matters too.
