I just purchased what I believe is a newer model ruger blackhawk, and the ejector rod wont go into any of the cylinders. It gets caught on the edge of every one. I tried tightening the ejector rod screw but that didnt help. Can i get some pointers?

The loading gate must be open and the cylinder rotated to line up for you to push the ejector rod in to punch tha case out.

You probably have a smaller caliber Blackhawk, .30 Carbine or .357 Magnum. Your ejector rod should have a flat on the inner surface, rather than being a round rod. This to provide more clearance to enter the chamber.

Yup, on the .30 Carb. models there ain't much clearance for the ejector rod. After a while you'll become "proficient" at indexing the cyl. so the rod will go into the chamber.
