Ruger Birdshead 45ACP

My new favorite revolver:
Ruger Vaquero Birdshead w/ Eagle Gunfighter grips and Power Customs Bisley hammer/trigger kit: The kit gives it a half-cock capability and a SMOOTH and Light trigger pull!

Those birds head grip Rugers are the perfect packing pistol. I have a stainless version with the same barrel length. Love mine.

Nice gun, I like that hammer and trigger set-up.

Here's mine in 45 Colt with Stag grips, I worked over the trigger pull got it down to 2&3/4 pounds.

I'll have to say my Cimarron out of the box has a trigger pull that feels much better, however it don't have the transfer bar to contend with.

The only thing that would make that beautiful thing better is if it were in 44 special.
What are you going to do for leather? It deserves some nice leather like Hunter’s.

I have an OWB holster from Mernickle on order.....
and an IWB from El Paso Saddlery on order!

I know it is not ideal in many people's mind....but I love carrying a "snubby" single action for defensive purposes!

wheelyfun, I always say if it works for you then go for it.

I've had the pleasure of being on the business end of a SA revolver, them big old 45 cartridges staring you in the face and a bore that looks as big as a flue pipe on a wood burning stove is impressive.

You have a nice revolver there, I've thought of picking one up in 45acp.
