Does anyone know where to start looking for a Ruger Bearcat ? The are none to be found in the local gun shop.

Ruger has sold out this years production capacity as of two or three months ago and stopped taking new orders. Try Gunbroker or Auction Arms. If you're willing to buy used, there's a good shop local to me that has two used ones (one with box, one without) in their display case. PM me if you're interested.

Ruger runs them once a year, and backorders usually eat up as much as 50% of the production runs.

Grab one when you can get it, or be prepare to wait.... :(

Yep, I was waiting for a SS Ruger Redhawk 4" to come back in stock when I finally had the cash. But what, my LGS (15 miles local) had a almost mint used Blued RH 5.5" for $425 just a few mile from of MLK blv in N. Las Vegas. SCORE!!!!!! You can keep your 4" SS, I just love/lust this gun, what a buy.:D

Point? sometime you just have to wait or pay up, everything is for sale, put out or get out. Or just what, you might save a $100 or so. LOL:D

THE local gun shop ? Only one ?

Where R U located ?

I feel bad 4 U, since there are at least 15 gunshops within a 30-min drive for me, and there's usually 3-4 Bearcats per year, amongst them.

I didn't care for the New Models, or stainless, so I bought a pristine Old Model

There are 100 bearcats listed on gunbroker right now. You should be able to find a gun that fits your need.

I live it the Buffalo, NY area

Most of the ones you googled are very small, sole proprietor shops with limited selection and often limited hours. There are only a few larger shops with longer hours. Even chains like Gander Mountain have a more limited selection than usual in WNY.
This is largely due to difficulty with handgun permits in Erie county. Unfortunately, (or maybe fortunately) procedures and difficulty in obtaining a permit vary widely from county to county in the state.

Ruger Bearcat

Saw one at a gun show in Louisville today, old style with original box. Don’t remember the price but see one or two at every show I go to for around $450. I think I’ll keep the one I bought in 1969 for $39. I still have the top half of the box.
