Ruger American Rimfire, anyone own one yet?

I've been looking for an affordable .22lr bolt rifle for some time now. Everything from Savage to CZ, and for the while I was leaning towards CZ.

Until I came across this little gem. From what I've seen it's a pretty new addition to Rugers line up of .22lr rifles, that said, I was wondering if anyone here has had some experience with it and what it's over all accuracy is like.

I'll be using this rifle to practice various stances with open sights at first as well as to train myself on good trigger control and good stance.

I was also wondering if the rear leaf sight is compatible with the adjustable leaf sights that you can buy for the Ruger 10/22 so that I may be able to adjust for windage and elevation (From what I can tell, the stock irons do not allow for the adjustmet of either)

I'd appreciate any feedback on this particular rifle, and look forward to hearing from ya'll

I haven't handled one yet, but I've been following every review I can find.

The overall consensus is:
-Good rifle.
-10/22 and 77/22 magazine compatibility is a bonus for most people.
-Accuracy is good (after break-in).
-True flush-fit magazines are a huge advantage over the competition, for people that shoot from improvised rests or do a lot of hiking/walking with the rifle.

The most common complaints are:
-It's ugly.
-Really rough bores from the factory. Some JB Bore Compound and 50+ rounds are needed, before there's any chance of testing the rifle's accuracy potential.
-Inconsistent trigger pull. Some people are "fixing" this by removing a spring from the trigger group.
-Sensitive to action screw torque. After the rifle has been disassembled, it may take some action screw "tuning" to get the right torque for good accuracy. (Following the lead of a guy on rimfire central, most people have found about 15 inch-pounds to be a happy medium.)
-Some rifles are extremely picky about ammo. They might print 6" groups at 50 yards with one load, and 1/2" groups with another load from the same manufacturer.

I can't find much about the sights, except that a few people are complaining about elevation adjustments.

If you haven't do so, yet, I'd suggest at least going through all of the Ruger American Rimfire discussions in the Rimfire Central 77/22 forum. (And the "Other Rugers" forum.)

From what I've read, it seems as though they wanted something to compete with the Savage's adjustability in the trigger, with some other options. Msrp was about $100+ more than a savage mkii. I have a mark ii and I like it. Mine seems to be most accurate and consistent with subsonic ammo, like Remington's subs. Mine was also $200 out the door
