I just purchased one and was wanting some optic and suppressor ideas.I have one in the AR platform with a Leupold 1-4x20 Hog scope set up for hog hunting. The Ruger will be a 50-125 yard whitetail rifle. Thanks for any info.

Ive been running a AAC 762SDN-6 for a while on both 300blk and 308win bolt guns and AR's.

While That can quiets the 300blk down just fine, its a bit long and heavy for the caliber.

I just purchased a GMT 300blk can, and i think it will be a better match for that caliber. Titanium construction, monocore baffle. Much shorter and lighter then the SDN-6. Rated subs or supers down to 8" barrels

I'm running the Nikon 2-7X32 P-300 scope on my blackout, I like it so far. 1-4 or 2-7 seem to be a pretty good power range for the blackout. I haven't worked out the exact dope yet but the bdc reticle seems to be pretty close to correct, I'm mainly shooting supersonic ammunition.

For shots at deer sized game at 50 yards to 125 yards, I gotta agree with the poster above. Buy a second scope of the same type as on your Hog gun.

If it's working for you now, no need to add stress. Run with it.

Sharkbite: I'm looking at this same can for my Blackout set-up. The local SOT dealer has them in stock.

Does your SDN-6 can tend to unloosen a ratchet-notch or two from vibration while you're shooting?

I read where some guys who had this problem w/ their SDN-6s were fixing it by sanding off the finish on the beveled rim area just forward of the "teeth," and then were able to crank the can on tighter to where it didn't shake loose ...

Any experience w/ that? Thanks.

The SDN-6 ratchet will vary in its lock up on different mounts. I have 2 mounts that it clicks onto the last tooth and does not wiggle a bit. Inhave a few other mounts that it doesnt quite make it to the last tooth and then wiggles.

The "wiggle" is only the distance between teeth on the mount and is VERY small. I have not been able to see ANY effect because of the wiggle. The movement is just a small rotation backward until the teeth on the can lock into the ones on the mount.

Ive never had the can come any looser then when it was put on. The teeth will prevent additional rotation. Its only that the teeth dont always allow an absolutly tight lockup when installed

Thanks ... Reason I ask, is the SOT dealer told me that while the SDN-6's "wiggle" on the T-51 mount isn't huge, he also said it's not a "precision" rifle can - more for a run-n-gun, "fighting" rifle set up. He said if I wanted a suppressor for precision work, I should consider a dedicated thread-on model, like AE & other companies make.

I did some research on posts by SDN-6 users about their experiences, and I've seen some comments like yours. But others report the wiggle opens groups noticeably more than shooting the same ammo without the can on.

I'm still on the fence, but I only really wanted the SDN-6 in order to do some hearing-safe, subsonic hog-blasting with my .300BLK SBR.

I'm pretty sure I don't need to be shooting MOA or less to kill hogs.

My SDN-6 is used on a variety of hosts. 223, 300blk (semi and bolt guns) and a few 308win.

One of my 308's is everybit a "precision rifle". Custom FN Special Police with the barrel shortened and a muzzle brake attached. That gunshoots legit 1/4 min groups at 100. 10 shots measured .268 with 175gn match ammo.

Stick the SDN-6 on and groups run close enough to the same as to not be worth talking about. .275 or so. The "wiggle" doesnt seem to effect that gun.

I just form 4d a new 300blk can for use on my 9" SBR. That was ONLY because i wanted a shorter, lighter can for that gun. Not because of any problem with the SDN-6.

I am using the Nikon P300 2-7 for the optic and the Liberty Mystic X for the suppressor. I have ordered the Liberty Freedom also for this gun, so I can use the Mystic on my 300blk pistol.

I probably have about 3k rounds through my SDN - 6. I use it on .308, .300bo. And .556 AR'S and bolt guns. The wiggle is a non issue and I've found that there's only about a quarter inch difference in grouping.
