Ruger 77 hawkeye .243

I have M77 in 6mm Remington from the 1960's. My favorite bolt rifle. Regarding the M77, Chuck Hawks like it also.

The Ruger Model 77 is a fine hunting rifle, as good as or better than anything on the market today, and I am proud to own such a well made gun. Its good trigger, reliable feeding and high level of accuracy all combine to make this rifle worth keeping.

Ruger makes good stuff. Period. I've had my M77 MkII all-weather for almost 20 years and it still shoots under an inch at 100 and looks brand new.

I have a Ruger Hawkeye All Weather 7mm-08 its a very nice rifle. It has great feel, finish is good, and it is a very accurate. I did a 10 minute trigger job on it which is very easy. I also thought the metal to metal on the bolt slide was rough so I applied some JB bore cleaner to it, worked the action about 100 times and walla it was smooth a silk. All in all a very easy fix for a fine quality rifle.

I like them a lot. I have mostly the older m77 mkii series but also a hawkeye 243. The biggest issue I see with them is they apparently reproduce at a steady rate. Ten years ago I had one but now I have a dozen. Not sure how that happened but it gets expensive because they all want fed and they all want the fancy glasses a few of them already have. Tread lightly my friend because you're about to enter dangerous territory.

I just looked at one yesterday that was in stainless steel. Very nice looking rifle but the interesting thing about it was that it was in .357 magnum, very, very interesting!
