hello, ive looked and looked online for a take-off 458wm barrel for a ruger. id like to find a ruger take-off 458wm barrel for my hockeye 375r. i want to convert it to the 458wm, but havnt found a barrel yet.
anybody know where i might find a great to good take-off ruger 458wm barrel?
thanks
Ted

Why don't you have the barrel bored to .458? You can have RCBS make some dies and I would venture that it would perform better than the 458WM.

Why not just buy an aftermarket barrel? Midway sells Adams & Bennett barrels, and they're pretty good for the money. You're going to wait a long time for a factory 458 barrel just lying around. They don't make that many of them, and folks who own them like them that way.

re-458 barrels

in answer to a couple questions...i want a ruger barrel as i want the factory markings and contour as well as the front site. the 375 is a great cart but i like the big heavy boolits that the 458 takes and the aftermarket barrels are good however for cosmetic reassons...id like to hold out for a ruger.
the whole used rifle is a good idea however i live in alaska and the fishing pond for used rifles is slim here.
